SUMMARY:Explorers' Retreat
DESCRIPTION:Are you discerning a call to ordained ministry? Do you want to explore further an interest in being a deacon or priest? \nIn our diocese\, one enters discernment for ordained ministry by attending the Explorers’ Retreat\, organized by the Commission on Ministry (CoM). This year’s retreat will take place January 27\, 2024 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Procter. Please note the previously scheduled December 16 Zoom information meeting has been canceled. The information which would have been presented at that meeting will be included in the retreat agenda. \nBoth the person discerning a call to ministry and parish priest (or in the absence of a priest\, a warden or other member of the parish) attend the retreat. \nThe Explorers’ Retreat will provide: \n\nan introduction to our diocesan Explorer Discernment Process (pre-postulancy)\nbasic information about the steps to ordination\nnext steps for beginning the process\nsharing about various lay ministries\, as well as life as a deacon\, priest\, or monastic\nBible study and theological reflection about ministry\n\nIf you have questions or need more information\, contact Sarah Beegle\, assistant for transitions and congregational ministry or Robin Holland\, chair of the Commission on Ministry. \nRegister for the retreat.

DESCRIPTION:The Transfiguration Spirituality Center (TSC) will host an Open House on Saturday\, January 27\, from 1 to 3 p.m. We are inviting all area churches to visit our facilities and see how we might be a good fit for their retreat needs – whether for a staff day away or a weekend for a women’s group\, or a personal retreat for clergy. \nTSC is located in beautiful Glendale. We welcome groups both secular and religious\, from a wide variety of backgrounds and faith traditions.
