DESCRIPTION:St. Alban’s\, Bexley\, along with She Has a Name\, will host an author book signing with Karen Monroe on her new book\, “Heart Without a Habit\,” on Saturday\, June 21 at 2 p.m. at St. Alban’s. \nHeart Without A Habit is a raw and honest account of a woman’s journey to sobriety\, marked by faith and resilience. Despite experiencing horrific traumas\, including rape\, domestic violence\, human trafficking\, and the troubled teen industry\, Karen Monroe found unwavering love and support from God. Through community connections\, recovery treatment\, anonymous rooms\, and an active prayer life\, she was able to heal her heart from trauma and break free from the lies she told herself\, finding recovery and a renewed sense of self. \nKaren Monroe is a survivor of human trafficking and addiction\, overcoming childhood trauma to reconstruct her life through a relationship with Jesus Christ. Karen has earned a bachelor’s degree in religious studies and holds credentials as a Qualified Behavioral Health Specialist (QBHS+3)\, Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant (CDCA)\, and Certified Peer Recovery Supporter (CPRS).
