SUMMARY:DSO/Ohio Beloved Community Retreat
DESCRIPTION:God has told you\, human one\, what is good and what the Lord requires from you: to do justice\, embrace faithful love\, and walk humbly with your God.\nMicah 6:8 \nThis Beloved Community retreat is for people in the dioceses of Southern Ohio and Ohio who long for community\, belonging\, and restoration while building relationships with like-minded seekers of God in each face we see. \nOur first retreat reached capacity quickly\, and we’re excited to host our second joint retreat at the beautiful Procter Center. Together\, we will pray\, worship\, share stories\, rest\, share meals\, and explore the farm as we practice being beloved community. \nBuilding a beloved community is intricate\, and we will\, with God’s help. Please join us! Registration deadline February 14. Register here. The cost to participate has been subsidized to $60 per person. Overnight accommodation and meals from dinner Friday through lunch Saturday are included. \nRetreat day 1\n5:00 pm arrival\, settle in\, welcome\n6:30 pm dinner\n7:30 pm introductions and intention setting \nRetreat day 2\n8:15 am morning prayer\n8:30 am breakfast\n9:30 am – 12 noon community building\n12:30 lunch\n1:30-4pm community building\n4pm peace out!

SUMMARY:Winter Youth Retreat
DESCRIPTION:Young people in 6th-12th grades are invited to join their peers across the Diocese of Southern Ohio for a three-day retreat at Procter Center! \nOur retreat will include winter camp activities such as sing-song\, Procter Games\, campfire\, camp compline\, farm and forest visits\, and more. We can’t wait to see you! \nThis youth retreat has been subsidized to $150/person. Scholarships are available and may be requested on the registration form. SUMMARY:Beloved Community Book Study: The Serviceberry
DESCRIPTION:As we work toward becoming Beloved Community in Southern Ohio\, books can help us explore paths toward healing and reconciliation. Like the stories from holy scripture\, stories in books offer a common language and equal ground to discuss challenging issues and topics while building community. \nEach first Tuesday of the month\, we will gather\, pray\, and discuss a book the hosts believe will bring us closer to the dream God has for us as God’s beloved children. Our title for February and March is The Serviceberry: Abundance and Reciprocity in the Natural World by Robin Wall Kimmerer. Participants can request a free copy of the book on the RSVP form. \nReading the book is not mandatory for this book study! Whether you read a few pages or the whole book\, our conversation will be better with you there. Just prepare for spoilers! We’ll talk about the book—our favorite parts\, where we see ourselves\, and what this book has to do with us\, our faith communities\, and our diocese. \nJoin us to discuss texts vital to our understanding of the beloved community in the Diocese of Southern Ohio and beyond. \nOur discussion of The Serviceberry takes place February 4 and March  from 7 to 8 pm.
