DESCRIPTION:God has told you\, human one\, what is good and what the Lord requires from you: to do justice\, embrace faithful love\, and walk humbly with your God.\nMicah 6:8 \nThis Beloved Community retreat is for people in the dioceses of Southern Ohio and Ohio who long for community\, belonging\, and restoration while building relationships with like-minded seekers of God in each face we see. \nOur first retreat reached capacity quickly\, and we’re excited to host our second joint retreat at the beautiful Procter Center. Together\, we will pray\, worship\, share stories\, rest\, share meals\, and explore the farm as we practice being beloved community. \nBuilding a beloved community is intricate\, and we will\, with God’s help. Please join us! Registration deadline February 14. Register here. The cost to participate has been subsidized to $60 per person. DESCRIPTION:The fourth concert in the Red Door Community Concert series at Holy Trinity\, Oxford\, will feature pianist Bruce Murray on Friday\, February 14 at 12:15 p.m. The concert is free and open to the public\, and is also available on the Holy Trinity YouTube channel. \nMiami professor Bruce Murray has worked in the music world as performer\, teacher\, presenter\, producer\, administrator\, broadcaster\, critic\, and author. To date he has performed in more than one thousand public concerts. These include more than thirty solo programs in Oxford in the past decade\, as Murray has aimed to present important music to his community and emphasize composers who have been under served. \nDuring the COVID lockdown he created a series of fifty-two music videos\, “Musical Snacks\,” recorded mostly at the Oxford Community Arts Center and published by Miami University’s Performing Arts Series. \nThis concert marks Murray’s second appearance on the Red Door Community Concerts series. As a Steinway Artist he is delighted to perform a Valentine’s Day Concert on Holy Trinity’s fine Steinway instrument.

DESCRIPTION:As we work toward becoming Beloved Community in Southern Ohio\, books can help us explore paths toward healing and reconciliation. Like the stories from holy scripture\, stories in books offer a common language and equal ground to discuss challenging issues and topics while building community. \nEach first Tuesday of the month\, we will gather\, pray\, and discuss a book the hosts believe will bring us closer to the dream God has for us as God’s beloved children. Our title for February and March is The Serviceberry: Abundance and Reciprocity in the Natural World by Robin Wall Kimmerer. Participants can request a free copy of the book on the RSVP form. \nReading the book is not mandatory for this book study! Whether you read a few pages or the whole book\, our conversation will be better with you there. Just prepare for spoilers! We’ll talk about the book—our favorite parts\, where we see ourselves\, and what this book has to do with us\, our faith communities\, and our diocese. \nJoin us to discuss texts vital to our understanding of the beloved community in the Diocese of Southern Ohio and beyond. \nOur discussion of The Serviceberry takes place February 4 and March  from 7 to 8 pm. DESCRIPTION:An Advent Procession with Lessons and Carols\nSunday\, December 1\n4:30-5:00 pm | Pre-Service Organ Recital\n5:00-6:15 pm | Advent Procession \nThis beautiful service is a wonderful way to begin the season of waiting for Christ’s birth. It is built around the seven Great “O” Antiphons that were traditionally sung at Vespers on the seven days prior to Christmas and eventually became the seven stanzas of the familiar Advent hymn “O Come\, O Come\, Emmanuel.” During the service\, music\, Scripture readings\, and prayers invite us to reflect on each of the antiphons. Seven gorgeous banners bearing the “O” Antiphon symbols\, each carried in procession while its corresponding antiphon is sung\, make this a visually as well as musically rich experience. Music sung by the choir will include: Let My Prayer Come Up as the Incense (Peter Hallock)\, The Great “O Antiphons” (Mode 2 plainchant and Peter Hallock)\, The Doctrine of Wisdom (William Mathias)\, Confortamini (Orlando di Lasso)\, A Tender Shoot (Kerensa Briggs)\, Hosanna to the Son of David (Thomas Weelkes)\, Infinite Light (arr. Paul Halley)\, Rorate coeli (Francisco Guerrero)\, There is No Rose (Cecilia McDowall). \nThe service is preceded by an organ recital featuring cathedral organist Abraham Wallace. \nIncense will be used at this service.
