DESCRIPTION:Holy Trinity\, Oxford\, will hold the third concert in the Red Door Community Concert series on Friday\, November 17 at 12:15 p.m. The concert is free and open to the public. Masks are suggested. The concert will also be streamed live on the Holy Trinity YouTube channel. \nFormed in 2017\, Srivastava & Feist is a duo comprised of saxophonist Om Srivastava and tabla player/percussionist Jim Feist. Professors at the prestigious University of Cincinnati Conservatory of Music\, the two formed the idea of a new modern-fusion duo rooted in an Indian identity. Srivastava & Feist perform original compositions and improvisations steeped in bold rhythm and melody toward achieving a contemporary Indian sound. A review of their debut album 7th Life in the NACWPI Journal describes “the virtuosity of both Srivastava and Feist…melodic and rhythmic acrobatics are on full display from two incredible performers…fascinating.”

DESCRIPTION:The Christ Church Cathedral choir will perform at Christ Church Cathedral on Sunday\, December 3 at 5 p.m. \nThis beautiful service is a wonderful way to begin the season of waiting for Christ’s birth. It is built around the seven Great “O” Antiphons that were traditionally sung at Vespers on the seven days prior to Christmas and eventually became the seven stanzas of the familiar Advent hymn “O Come\, O Come\, Emmanuel.” During the service\, music\, Scripture readings\, and prayers invite us to reflect on each of the antiphons. Seven gorgeous banners bearing the “O” Antiphon symbols\, each carried in procession while its corresponding antiphon is sung\, make this a visually as well as musically rich experience. Music sung by the choir will include: O Sapientia (Ramsey)\, O Lord\, How Shall I Meet You (Casurella)\, Es ist ein Ros’ entsprungen (Cashmore)\, Matins Responsory (Fishell)\, O Thou the Central Orb (Wood)\, Rorate coeli (Rheinberger)\, and There Is No Rose (McDowall). \nThe service is preceded by an organ recital  (4:30 p.m.) featuring cathedral organist Stephan Casurella. \nIncense will be used at this service. DESCRIPTION:A multi-faith volunteer gathering held on the third Saturday of each month\, Big Book Moments at Tikkun Farm\, are designed for all ages and abilities\, and is a great opportunity to have a spiritual experience while listening for God’s voice in the Big Book of Creation. We will work together to serve the needs of the farm. Projects may include work that supports the garden\, helps with a construction task that needs a lot of hands\, works inside organizing materials\, or processing alpaca fiber. Do you want to explore further an interest in being a deacon or priest? \nIn our diocese\, one enters discernment for ordained ministry by attending the Explorers’ Retreat\, organized by the Commission on Ministry (CoM). This year’s retreat will take place January 27\, 2024 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Procter.
