DESCRIPTION:The Christ Church Cathedral choir will perform on Sunday\, January 11\, at 5 p.m. \nJoin us for a service of Scripture\, prayer\, music\, and pageantry that reflects on the three Epiphany mysteries: the revelation of the Christ child to the Magi\, the baptism of Jesus in the Jordan River\, and the turning of water into wine at the wedding in Cana. DESCRIPTION:Introducing the Good Neighbor Series\, created by the Indian Hill Church to provide informative and entertaining programs around our communities’ common interests. Open not only to church members but also to those who live in surrounding neighborhoods\, we invite you to mark your calendars for evenings of fellowship\, fun\, food\, and learning. \nOn Tuesday\, January 13\, Indian Hill Church will host a special evening\, featuring the Cincinnati Shakespeare Company (CSC) to explore how the arts—especially theater—can help people of all ages grow in confidence\, communication\, empathy and creativity. Our guests for the evening will be Sara Clark\, Director of Development for CSC and a former professional actress\, and Emily Bruns\, CSC’s Education Director. Both are dynamic presenters with a deep passion for helping people\, especially students and life-long learners\, discover the transformative power of drama. Together\, they will share insights from their work with students across Greater Cincinnati\, including programs at Indian Hill High School and Cincinnati Country Day School\, where theater education has become a powerful tool for personal and social development.\nDuring the evening\, Sara and Emily will share highlights from CSC’s educational programs and describe the science and stories behind why drama makes such a difference\, especially for children and teens. \nCome discover firsthand what drama can do—not just for our children\, but for all of us who believe in the power of imagination and human connection. \nA catered dinner from Beth O’Leary will be offered before the presentation\, allowing time for fellowship and conversation with friends and neighbors. DESCRIPTION:Hyde Park Church Collective Presents: Lessons from the Wilderness: What the Bible Can Teach us about Politics (and It’s Not What You Think) with author\, Angela Rockop Erisman. \nJoin us on Wednesday\, January 14 at 6:30 pm in the Sanctuary at Church of the Redeemer\, Hyde Park. \nAngela Roskop Erisman is an independent scholar of the Hebrew Bible/Old Testament with an active program of writing and teaching in a variety of community settings\, both religious and secular. She holds a PhD from Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion and is a past winner of the Manfred Lautenschläger Award for Theological Promise\, an international award for outstanding early career scholarship in the field of religion. SUMMARY:Reconciling Religion\, Race\, and Really Queer People – Public Forum
DESCRIPTION:LOVEboldly\, a nonprofit dedicated to creating spaces where LGBTQIA+ people can flourish in faith communities\, will host an open forum event titled Reconciling Religion\, Race\, and Really Queer People from 5:30 to 9 pm on January 15th\, 2026 in Clifton at 103 William Howard Taft Rd\, Cincinnati\, OH 45219-2180 (The Geier Room at Mt. Auburn Presbyterian Church). \nThe forum will feature a diverse panel of leaders and thinkers addressing some of today’s most pressing issues: the intersections of religion\, race\, and LGBTQIA+ identities in America. Panelists will explore how faith communities can move beyond division and toward healing\, inclusion\, and justice. \n“Across the U.S.\, Christian nationalism\, racial inequities\, and hostility toward LGBTQIA+ people are tearing communities apart\,” said Rev. Dr. Ben Huelskamp\, Executive Director of LOVEboldly. “This forum creates a space where those conversations can be honest\, hopeful\, and healing.” \nPanelists \nSiobhan Boyd-Nelson (she/her) is a Columbus-based attorney\, nonprofit leader\, and advocate with more than two decades of service to Ohio’s LGBTQ+ community. A graduate of Howard University and The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law\, she has held senior leadership roles at Kaleidoscope Youth Center\, Stonewall Columbus\, and Equality Ohio\, including Interim Executive Director. Siobhan currently serves as board president of Black\, OUT & Proud and board chair of LOVEBoldly. \nPastor Terry T. Hocker (he/they) is a black\, trans\, Cincinnati-based minister and community organizer with 16+ years of experience serving marginalized communities. Known for their inclusive\, justice-centered faith\, Terry leads outreach work focused on dignity\, healing\, and radical love in action. \nJenny Jackson (she/her) is a fully affirming\, certified Spiritual Director and Associate Director of Roots & Branches in Cincinnati. She has over 15 years of experience counseling families and couples as an occupational therapist\, spiritual guide and Enneagram consultant. Jenny is the mother of 5 bi-racial children\, one of which identifies as queer. \nTyler Chernesky (he/him) is a storyteller\, writer and community organizer who serves as Program Director at Cincinnati-based nonprofit\, Community Happens Here. He holds a Master of Divinity degree\, served as a pastor at two churches and spent years as a gay man working at the intersection of spirituality and sexuality.

DESCRIPTION:You are invited to an Epiphany Quiet Day at Procter Center on January 17\, from 10 am to 3 pm. This day retreat will be centered on the gifts and opportunities of the Epiphany season. \nThe day will include a writing workshop led by Jen Sammons\, Noonday prayer led by the Greers\, lunch from the Procter Kitchen\, and time for silent prayer and reflection. \nJen Sammons lives in Dayton\, Ohio\, where she explores the intersections of being a queer writer\, mother\, and teacher\, and advocates for visibility in all three. She holds an MFA from Miami University\, where she is currently a Visiting Assistant Professor in the English Department. Jen is the author of the chapbook\, Trisagion\, nonfiction winner of the 2018 Gertrude Press chapbook contest. Her work has appeared as an AWP Intro Journals Award winner in Tahoma Literary Review\, as well as in River Teeth\, Slag Glass City\, and Palaver. Jen also serves as the Director of Children & Youth Ministry for Christ Church Dayton and served as a Session Crew leader at Procter Summer Camp\, helping oversee formation for Junior High Camp. \nLunch and all materials will be included.
