DESCRIPTION:The fourth concert in the Red Door Community Concert series at Holy Trinity\, Oxford\, will feature pianist Bruce Murray on Friday\, February 14 at 12:15 p.m. The concert is free and open to the public\, and is also available on the Holy Trinity YouTube channel. \nMiami professor Bruce Murray has worked in the music world as performer\, teacher\, presenter\, producer\, administrator\, broadcaster\, critic\, and author. To date he has performed in more than one thousand public concerts. These include more than thirty solo programs in Oxford in the past decade\, as Murray has aimed to present important music to his community and emphasize composers who have been under served. \nDuring the COVID lockdown he created a series of fifty-two music videos\, “Musical Snacks\,” recorded mostly at the Oxford Community Arts Center and published by Miami University’s Performing Arts Series. \nThis concert marks Murray’s second appearance on the Red Door Community Concerts series. As a Steinway Artist he is delighted to perform a Valentine’s Day Concert on Holy Trinity’s fine Steinway instrument.

DESCRIPTION:The second concert in the Red Door Community Concert series at Holy Trinity\, Oxford\, will feature lutist Christopher Wilke on Friday\, October 25 at 12:15 p.m. The concert is free and open to the public\, and is also available on the Holy Trinity YouTube channel. \nChristopher Wilke studied guitar and composition at the College of Mt. St. Joseph. He earned a Masters in classical guitar from the University of Cincinnati’s College Conservatory of Music and a doctorate in Early Music Performance at the Eastman School of Music. \nA dedicated teacher\, Dr. Wilke is now chair of guitar studies at CCM. He also founded Early Music Ensembles and a large Guitar Orchestra. Several of his compositions have been published by Les Productions d’Oz in Montreal. Dr. Wilke performs widely\, having given solo recitals in Italy and Germany as well as throughout the United States. You won’t want to miss his concert of Classical music on guitar and lute!

Masks are suggested. The concert will also be streamed live on the Holy Trinity YouTube channel. \nConcert #4 features the duo of Siok Lian Tan\, piano\, and Tze Yean Lim\, violin\, playing Twentieth Century composers from the Americas. Tan holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Piano from CCM in Cincinnati. She has appeared as a soloist with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and presented concerts in major cities such as New York\, Chicago\, Luxembourg\, Cologne\, Cape Town\, Hong Kong\, Kuala Lumpur\, Melbourne\, and London. She also performs regularly with her violinist husband\, Tze Yean Lim\, who holds a Doctor of Music in Violin from CCM. A former a member of the faculty string quartet at Wright State University\, Lim has also presented solo violin recitals in Malaysia\, Indonesia\, Hong Kong\, Australia\, South Africa\, and throughout the United States. He actively performs at the College Music Society-Great-Lakes Conferences. Besides performing\, Lim also maintains a studio of gifted young violinists. \nBoth artists are currently on the faculty of Miami University. You don’t want to miss this concert!

DESCRIPTION:Holy Trinity\, Oxford\, will hold the third concert in the Red Door Community Concert series on Friday\, November 17 at 12:15 p.m. The concert is free and open to the public. Masks are suggested. The concert will also be streamed live on the Holy Trinity YouTube channel. \nFormed in 2017\, Srivastava & Feist is a duo comprised of saxophonist Om Srivastava and tabla player/percussionist Jim Feist. Professors at the prestigious University of Cincinnati Conservatory of Music\, the two formed the idea of a new modern-fusion duo rooted in an Indian identity. Srivastava & Feist perform original compositions and improvisations steeped in bold rhythm and melody toward achieving a contemporary Indian sound. A review of their debut album 7th Life in the NACWPI Journal describes “the virtuosity of both Srivastava and Feist…melodic and rhythmic acrobatics are on full display from two incredible performers…fascinating.”

DESCRIPTION:Join the people of Holy Trinity\, Oxford\, for “Wild Card\,” a free concert of exciting music from the 17th to the 21st century! The fourth concert of the Red Door Community Concert Series features organist Yun Kim on Holy Trinity’s magnificent Nordlie Organ. \nYun Kim is widely hailed for her vibrant performances and is passionate about presenting engaging programs of diverse musical styles to her audiences. Concert reviewers have described her performances as “remarkable” (The American Organist)\, “uniquely spectacular” (Hope College Anchor)\, and that she “plays with great sensitivity and great élan” (The Diapason). She has been a featured recitalist at National Conventions of the Organ Historical Society and several American Guild of Organists Regional Conventions. Her performances have been broadcast nationally on Pipedreams. \nYun Kim is currently Choirmaster and Organist at Christ Church\, Dayton\, and teaches organ at Sinclair Community College. She received her Doctor of Music in Organ Performance from Indiana University. \nAs always\, the concert is free and open to the public. Masks suggested. DESCRIPTION:Red Door Community Concert: Pianist Bruce Murray\nHoly Trinity\, Oxford\nFriday\, Feb. 17\, 12:15 p.m.\nPianist Bruce Murray is a Steinway Artist and Professor of Music at Miami University. He is well known in the Oxford Community for his numerous free\, public concerts at the Oxford Community Arts Center. He is is an active recitalist\, known especially for his performances of Bach\, Beethoven\, Liszt\, and new music. He has performed Bach’s Goldberg Variations some fifty times on three continents. Murray’s repertoire of concertos includes more than forty works for piano and orchestra. The list of conductors with whom he has performed includes Keith Lockhart\, Matthias Bamert\, Louis Lane\, Anshel Brusilow\, David Effron\, Shinik Hahm\, and Paul Polivnick. \nMurray received the Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Music in music from Carnegie Mellon University\, where he studied with Nelson Whitaker. Murray received the Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees from Yale University\, where he studied with Ward Davenny and Claude Frank. He undertook further private study with Aube Tzerko and Leonard Shure. \nHe will perform an eclectic selection of diverse pieces at this noontime concert – which should NOT be missed!
