St. John’s, Worthington, celebrates 220th Anniversary

In February 1804, a group of Episcopalian settlers from Connecticut held the first services for a new church they called St. John’s in Worthington and Parts Adjacent. St. John’s, Worthington, will celebrate its 220th anniversary on Sunday, February 4, at both 9 and 11:15 a.m., with a festive coffee hour (i.e. cake) between services.

On the actual anniversary, Tuesday, February 6, at 7:00 p.m., we will hold a celebratory evening including St. John’s choir singing movements from Franz Schubert’s Mass in G and a newly commissioned piece by Episcopalian composer Jessica Nelson in honor of St. John’s 220th anniversary.

Admission is free; a free-will offering will be accepted to support St. John’s music ministry. All are invited to join to celebrate this milestone in the congregation’s life.
