In the Diocese of Southern Ohio, those feeling a call to ordained ministry as a priest or deacon begin the diocesan discernment process by attending an Explorers’ Retreat organized by the Commission on Ministry (COM), in January or February of each year.
After attending the Explorers’ Retreat, the next step is forming a Parish Discernment Committee (PDC).
Once PDC members are selected and the Parish Discernment Committee Form has been submitted to the Transition office at transitions@diosohio.org, the following materials provide training and support for the Parish Discernment part of the Explorer process.
