We Sing: Bishop Smith’s Easter Vigil Sermon

In his Easter Vigil sermon, preached last evening at Christ Church Cathedral, Bishop Smith reminds us that at Easter, we sing alleluia because the cross and the tomb are empty.

“For everything that has breath, we sing. For everything that makes us human, we sing. For what makes us holy, we sing. For tears that we must weep in our days, and the various and sundry captivities that come our way, even then, we sing … There is so much to sing about, and so little time.

“But most of all, we sing for the glorious resurrection of Jesus Christ, the one whom God made stronger than death…”
