Safe Church

Training

It is the responsibility of all congregational clergy and leadership to safeguard children, youth, vulnerable adults, and employees from sexual harassment, exploitation, and abuse. Safe Church training helps clergy, staff, and volunteers understand the requisite policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of everyone involved in ministry.

Praesidium Academy

Safe Church Education and Training is hosted by Praesidium Academy. If you have used Praesidium in the past for your certification, you still have an account. If you are unsure, you can try to log in using the email you believe you last used and reset your password. If you continue to have trouble, email Sarah Beegle to troubleshoot.

Please follow the step by step guide to begin creating your account.

Completing Courses and Receiving Certificates

Each parish has a registration code which is used to help track certifications, and also to make sure the necessary courses are available based on how you are registered. Please review the registration code spreadsheet, or email your parish administrator to find your code.

After finishing your required modules (see below), email your transcript to your parish administrator.

Required Courses

Not all courses offered on Praesidium Academy are required for every individual. Determine your required courses based on your role as clergy, paid and unpaid personnel, volunteer, licensed contractor, Procter Center staff, or school staff by downloading the spreadsheet below:
