Christmas at St. Thomas: Bach’s Magnificat

Bach’s joyous Magnificat heralds the Christmas season in a blaze of glory.

The work is a masterpiece of festive exuberance, perfect for the Christmas season! The composer’s use of a large ensemble brings a majestic richness that will fill St. Thomas Church with joy and grandeur. The work takes you on a musical journey through 10 versus and a Gloria with musical lines that somehow always seem ascending. The rhythmic energy of the opening and closing choruses sets a perfect, joyful  and boisterous mood for the holiday season.
