Friends in Christ,

Do you know an older adult who is the definition of living a life of faith and hope well into their older years? Nominations are now open for the Class of 2025 of the Society of St. Simeon and St. Anna.

The Society was established in our diocese in 1995 to honor those in our communities who portray a positive image of the contributions of aging persons. Congregations are invited to nominate one individual from their community, lay or clergy. Nominees must be confirmed or received Episcopalians aged 65 or older, making a contribution in their congregation or community, faithfully ministering in their family, community, church, nation, or world, and publicly acknowledging a positive image of the contributions of aging persons.

The criteria for nomination includes:

  • Living examples of Christian witness, compassionate lives of faithfulness to the gospel of Christ Jesus; the hope of the gospel for all persons in the diocese
  • Outstanding service to the church
  • Living community of prayer
  • Model for Christian living
  • Look to society for images of life that are lived in imitation of Christ

The deadline for nominations is September 1. The online nomination form and information about the Society of St. Simeon and St. Anna can be found here.
