The Feast Day of Harriet Tubman: Holy Eucharist & Teach-In
Tuesday, March 10th at St. Andrew’s, Evanston
March 10th is the anniversary of the death of freedom fighter Harriet Ross Tubman. The Episcopal Church has recognized Harriet Tubman with a Feast Day on March 10th to coincide with other national celebrations of her legacy of faith, freedom and liberation.
All are invited to come and celebrate an inaugural Eucharist to commemorate this year’s Feast Day, the Rt. Rev. Kristin Uffelman White, bishop of Southern Ohio, presiding and the Rev. Julia Joyce-Miesse, rector serving St. Luke’s, Granville, preaching.
The Eucharist will include congregational singing of spirituals and freedom songs and a teach-in sermon about the life and witness of Harriet Tubman. A light reception will follow the Eucharist.
Join us! No RSVPs required.
