Transferring into the Diocese of Southern Ohio
The process for clergy who seek to become canonically resident in the Diocese of Southern Ohio is outlined below:
- Ask the bishop of your current diocese to send your Letters Dimissory to the bishop of the Diocese of Southern Ohio at the following address:
- The Rt. Rev. Kristin Uffelman White, Diocese of Southern Ohio, 412 Sycamore Street, Cincinnati, OH 45202
- When the Letters Dimissory are received by Bishop White, a signed Acceptance of Letters Dimissory will be sent back to the diocese of origin, and a copy of that document will be placed into the clergy file here at the Diocese of Southern Ohio.
- Church Pension Group is then notified of the change in canonical residence.
Transferring out of the Diocese of Southern Ohio
The process for clergy transferring out of the Diocese of Southern Ohio is outlined below:
- Send a written request for your Letters Dimissory to Bishop White. Please include the name and address of the bishop or other ecclesiastical authority of the diocese where you wish to transfer.
- Upon receipt of your written request to transfer, the bishop’s office will send a signed copy of the Letters Dimissory to the bishop of your new diocese.
- When the Letters Dimissory are received, the bishop of that diocese will send a signed Acceptance of Letters Dimissory to the Diocese of Southern Ohio. The ordination officer of that diocese will then notify Church Pension Group of the change in canonical residence.
