People of God in Southern Ohio,
As people who embody the Gospel of Jesus Christ, we are called to study, pray, and proclaim the Good News and the love of God that transcends all barriers. Since 1974, the diocese has supported our collective commitment to formation of disciples through Faith in Life grants, endowment-supported programs and projects for lifelong formation.
It brings me great joy to announce that the Faith in Life Grant Application has reopened for submissions.
Successful Faith in Life proposals will:
- Reflect one or more diocesan formation priorities: Beloved Community, evangelism, creation care and environmental justice, justice-seeking, flourishing congregations, and stewardship.
- Be lay-led or have a specific intent for empowering and equipping the laity for discipleship.
- Detail measurable outcomes and a plan for program evaluation.
- Demonstrate strategy for continued funding beyond diocesan sources, if a continuing program.
All projects must be an initiative or partner of a faith community in the Diocese of Southern Ohio. The maximum grant award is $10,000. Applications may be submitted on a rolling basis and the first round of applicants will be reviewed in late February with granting decisions communicated by the end of March. Grants will be reviewed three times per year. View this information and the application on our website.
As you prepare to submit an application or consider future projects, I commend to you our emerging diocesan mission:
As the Diocese of Southern Ohio, we embody the Gospel of Jesus Christ and share in God’s transformation of our communities with the Holy Spirit as our guide.
We look forward to considering your requests and participating in God’s transformation of your communities!
Yours in Christ,
The Rev. Canon Meredith Day Hearn
