Dear Church in Southern Ohio,
As the newly appointed diocesan Episcopal Relief and Development ambassador and disaster coordinator, I am excited to share with you two ways your congregation can consider increasing the visibility this arm of the church that makes a short-term and long-term impact on our human family in our backyard and around the world:

Episcopal Relief and Development Sunday – March 9th
Please join the wider church to raise awareness and possibly funds for Episcopal Relief and Development on March 9th! Please click this link for a number of resources, including worship materials, bulletin inserts and ways to give.
Alternatively, your congregation may choose to celebrate this special Sunday on March 30th – the fourth Sunday in Lent has been when Southern Ohio has historically celebrated Episcopal Relief and Development Sunday.
Regardless of what Sunday you may designate, please know I am happy to brainstorm additional ideas.
If your congregation celebrates Episcopal Relief and Development Sunday, please send me your pictures!
2025 Lent Mediations “A Commonplace Lent” and Quiet Day
Journey with Jesus this Lent by reflecting on meditations crafted by Southern Ohio’s very own Jerusalem Jackson Greer, co-executive director of the Procter Center. These meditations can be used by individuals and/or in group settings. To access the meditations and associated resources, including a study guide, please click here.
Want to take a deeper look at the word “common?” Do you need an extended period of time to pause and be with God this Lent? If your answer is “yes” to one or both questions, please consider joining Jerusalem at the Procter Center on April 12th from 10 am to 3 pm for a Quiet Day based on “A Commonplace Lent.” Additional details and registration information can be accessed here.
I welcome your questions and ideas! Please be in touch with me to collaborate on disaster preparedness for your local faith community.
Peace and all good,
The Rev. Derrick Fetz
Missioner for Stewardship
Episcopal Relief and Development Ambassador and Disaster Coordinator
