Episcopal Church Women awards two Book of Remembrance scholarships

In July, the Episcopal Church Women (ECW) of the diocese awarded Book of Remembrance scholarships to Catherine Duffy, who is attending Bexley-Seabury Seminary, and Molly Cooke, who is attending Yale Divinity School. Catherine will be ordained to the Sacred Order of Deacons on December 9 at Christ Church Cathedral.

Since inception of the Trust in 1920, scholarships have been awarded to women in the helping professions and those seeking ordination. Short-term scholarships are awarded for continuing education programs or specialized training.

The awards are made possible by memorial contributions of parish women’s ministries organizations including ECW. The Trust has grown to over $400,000 in 100 years. Almost every woman priest ordained in our diocese has received a Book of Remembrance scholarship. The ECW enthusiastically supports seminarians by issuing scholarships toward tuition.

To contribute to memorials to the Trust and to receive a copy of your congregation’s entries into the Book of Remembrance, please contact Kathy Mank at kathymank@gmail.com.

Scholarship applications for the 2024-2025 school year as well as short-term grant applications are available by emailing Kathy at kathymank@gmail.com.  Applications are due by March 15, 2024.
