The Way of the Cross: Jesus at the Border

A new expression of the traditional Stations of the Cross, “Jesus at the Border” is an exploration of migrant journeys to the border between the United States and Mexico. As racist rhetoric about walls and steel slat fences grows louder, the stories of people making the dangerous journey to the United States are all but silenced. To highlight the human stories of migration as an antidote and counternarrative to the criminalization of migration, participants will see and hear stories of migrants at each station of Jesus’ journey to the Cross, because Jesus was a migrant (Matthew 2:13-15), Christ is present in migrants (Matthew 25:31-46), and no one is illegal.
