Clergy and Senior Wardens,
In 2026, the diocesan office will offer multiple options for participation in services of confirmation, reception, and reaffirmation, the sacramental rite in which individuals “express a mature commitment to Christ, and receive strength from the Holy Spirit through prayer and the laying on of hands by a bishop” (BCP, p. 860).
The options are:
- During Bishop White’s visitation to your congregation. View her visitation schedule and customary on our website.
- An area-wide confirmation service at Christ Church Cathedral on Pentecost, May 24th at 10 am. Whole churches may opt to worship at the cathedral that Sunday, or individuals who have been prepared for confirmation in their home community may participate on their own or with sponsors. An invitation with registration for candidates will be sent later this month.
- Our office of formation will offer a Confirmation Camp at Procter Center, July 5-10, which will prepare youth for their own commitments of confirmation. The camp will conclude with a July 10th service of confirmation for camp participants and their guests.
- Congregations may invite one of our assisting bishops to visit their congregations and offer the rite of confirmation. Please contact Sarah Beegle, executive assistant to Bishop White, to arrange.
