Clergy and Vestry Leaders,
Earlier this year, we announced a series of two-day regional gatherings: Friday Staff Work Days and Saturday Leadership Days. Due to low registrations for the Saturday offering, the recent increase in availability of other formation opportunities, and after some conversation and feedback at our clergy conference last week, we have determined the need to pivot from the original plan.
This is what will happen instead:
- All Friday Regional Staff Work Days will take place as planned, including the one at Church of the Advent, Walnut Hills (Cincinnati) on March 6th. Join us for drop-in fellowship time from 10-11 am, and then staff are available for pre-made appointments from 11-3 pm. See the staff page of our website to schedule.
- This Saturday’s (March 7th) Leadership Day is cancelled and registrants have been notified by email.
- The April 25th date at St. Mark’s, Columbus will be offered as a Vestry & Wardens Day (a reprise of the offering that took place in February at Christ Church, Glendale). A new, revised invitation will go out by email within the next two weeks.
- The July 25th date at Good Shepherd, Athens will also pivot to a Vestry & Wardens Day. A revised invitation will go out in late May.
- The September 12th date at St. Margaret’s, Dayton is cancelled, recognizing that the region recently hosted our Mini-CCD and many recently attended the Vestry & Wardens Day in Glendale.
Thank you for your flexibility and leadership of your communities. We hope you can join us for one of the Regional Staff Work Days and for either of these revised programs as we seek to continue to provide you with accessible, practical tools for developing healthy, effective, and vibrant faith communities.
If you have questions, please email me at mdayhearn@diosohio.org. Otherwise, look out for new invitations to the regional Vestry & Wardens Days in Columbus and Athens coming soon.
Faithfully,
The Rev. Canon Meredith Day Hearn
Canon for Congregations
The Episcopal Diocese of Southern Ohio
