Closing Celebration for Iglesia Episcopal Espíritu Santo
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 23rd at 6 pm at IEES
Please join us as we celebrate the closing Eucharist at Iglesia Episcopal de Espíritu Santo (IEES) and mark our gratitude for its impact on the community and our diocese.
The ministry we know as IEES has offered community in many iterations over its years. First, a traditional Episcopal congregation known as the Church of the Holy Spirit, then as an intentional Spanish-speaking worshipping community, then without a worshipping community but continuing its core outreach ministries: a food pantry, afterschool tutoring program, and much more.
Earlier this year, we announced that the ministry at IEES would close after many years of fruitful and impactful ministry in the Forest Park neighborhood of Cincinnati. As these ministries have concluded and as a new expression of Latino ministry emerges through the congregations of our diocese, we will celebrate with a special service honoring IEES and the people who have been transformed through it.
Clergy who have historically been involved with IEES are invited to vest and process wearing white stoles.
Spanish will be incorporated into the liturgy.
