Winter Faith Formation Retreat: Holy Flexibility in our Faith Communities
January 30-31, 2026 at Procter Center
Faith formation leaders and practitioners from across the diocese are invited to dive into core improv practices, looking at how openness, curiosity, and responsiveness shape our teaching and ministry. We’ll ask: how can an improvisational approach reawaken creativity, deepen connection, and nurture contextual and Spirit-led formation?
Through playful practice and theological reflection, we’ll explore how saying “yes, and” opens us to collaboration, curiosity, and God’s unfolding possibilities. Participants will learn to embrace mistakes as sacred opportunities and to foster faith communities where every voice helps shape the story. Come ready to play, reflect, and leave renewed for the holy work of formation ministry! We will also have ample opportunity to brainstorm about formation in our own contexts and connect informally with others doing this holy work.
This retreat is open to all formation leaders, both lay and ordained, volunteers and church staff, and all those with curiosity about the topic.
