Dear People of God in Southern Ohio,
I am grateful to each one of you for the ways that you live and serve as members of the Body of Christ that is the Church throughout Southern Ohio.
Thanks to so many of you for your faithful participation in the diocesan-wide discernment gatherings these past few weeks. Our facilitators from Ministry Architects met with more than 200 participants from more than 48 congregations and heard from nearly 20 additional voices via our online survey. These conversations marked the beginning of our work in developing a new shared mission for the diocese. I would love to invite you to a public presentation (via Zoom) of the final report from those discussions on Wednesday, May 29, at 10 a.m.
During this hour, the Ministry Architects consultants will share what they learned from their days with us, along with initial recommendations for how we can move forward together. I will attend, along with Canon Jodi Baron, and we will be able to answer questions. There is no registration required; we invite you to join as you are able. After the presentation, the report and recording will be available.
As we will hear, there are clear challenges in our common work and shared connections. But we also hold significant assets. Overall, I am encouraged about the future we share as we work together to address our challenges and build on what makes us strong.
I have such hope as we all as we look forward to the days to come.
